Rudbeckia x ‘American Gold Rush’ – Black-eyed Susan
Pot Size: 1 gallon
Rudbeckia fulgida var. fulgida – Late Black-eyed Susan
An excellent, late-blooming variety of Orange Coneflower or Black-eyed Susan. The form ‘Goldsturm’ (a selection of R. fulgida var. sullivantii) predominates in gardens and you’ll be hard pressed to find any other offerings at most nurseries. We also offer R. fulgida var. deamii and this variety – it’s longer blooming than ‘Goldsturm’, going from August to October; six weeks after ‘Goldsturm’ is brown, this plant is at its peak. A little bit shorter than ‘Goldsturm’ and with smaller flowers, but the best variety for the fall garden. Like all members of this group it’s a great butterfly plant and the seeds are eagerly eaten by birds.
