Aesculus flava – Yellow Buckeye – Band pot

$15.00

The largest and most beautiful of the North American Buckeyes that grow into full-size trees. The flowers are creamy yellow with a patch of red at the base of the upper petals – somewhat brighter and more showy than those of Ohio Buckeye. The bark is an interesting combination of gray and brown that peels off in irregular curling strips and adds a bit of shaginess to the tree. All Buckeyes are early to leaf out in spring and early to drop leaves in fall but Yellow Buckeye’s foliage is longer lasting than others and may turn a pumpkin color in fall in some individuals.
