One of the most popular water lilies of all time. Hybridized by Joseph Marliac in 1887. Marliac was the most accomplished hybridizer of water lilies of his time and most of his creations are still popular today. Chromatella has a canary-yellow, cup-shaped flower and young foliage that is beautifully blotched and mottled in purple. New flowers are noticeably fragrant. It’s one of the best lilies for a shady pond and adapts well to tub culture.
