Penstemon pallidus – Pale Beardtongue – 1-Pint

A compact penstemon that is an infrequent inhabitant of dry woods and fields in the Catskills. Like all penstemons it is attractive to hummingbirds, butterflies and bumblebees. The clusters of very pale violet to white flowers are also showy in the middle or toward the front of a sunny flower border.

The plants we have for sale are descendants of plants that we found growing near Margaretville from which we collected seeds. We’ve established plants in our Catskill Mountain Top Garden and on the potting pavilion Green Roof from which we now collect seeds to propagate more plants.
