Prunus avium Blackyork® – Sweet Cherry – 7-Gallon

$59.00

A 2004 introduction from Cornell University. BlackYork® is often called the “Eastern Bing Cherry” because of its crisp, firm texture. Unlike ‘Bing,’ which is not well-adapted to eastern growing conditions, particularly frequent rainfall which induces fruit cracking, BlackYork® resists cracking from summer rains. The medium to large size fruit ripen mid season, approximately early July in our area. A member of Pollen Group IX, a rare group which makes it a good pollenizer for other varieties. Requires a cherry from outside Group IX for pollenization. Resistant to bacterial canker.
