Prunus persica ‘Loring’ – Yellow Peach – 7-Gallon

There aren’t many peaches selected from the state of Missouri – ‘Loring’ originated there way back in 1946 and has remained popular throughout the country based on its superb flavor and large size. ‘Loring’ is also considered one of the best varieties for canning and freezing. It’s thought to be considerably less cold hardy than varieties like ‘Contender’ or ‘Cresthaven’ so it’s not the best choice for higher elevations of the Catskills but should be fine in our valleys and lower elevations. Ripens in the late mid-season, in our area toward the end of August. Good bacterial spot resistance.
