Pyrus communis ‘Potomac’ – European Pear – 5-Gallon


The USDA released this pear from an Ohio State  breeding program in 1993 because it combines the highest fireblight resistance with excellent flavor and productivity. This rich buttery pear ripens in mid season, early- to mid-September, and keeps 8-10 weeks in the refrigerator. Fruit is of medium size and the flavor is similar one of its parents, ‘Anjou’. Any other European pear will serve as a pollenizer.
