Rhus copallinum ‘Prairie Flame’ – Flameleaf Sumac – 3-Gallon

$39.00

This Morton Arboretum (Lisle, Illinois) introduction is noted for its compact size, glossy green summer foliage and spectacular red fall color. It’s a male cultivar (the species is dioecious) that does not produce fruiting clusters. The male flowers are still a valuable nectar and pollen source for beneficial insects. Plants are densely branched when young, but open up somewhat with age. Like all sumacs, it spreads by root suckers and forms a colony over time.
