Schoenoplectus tabernaemontana ‘Albescens’ – Great Bulrush – 2 gallon
A cosmpolitan wetland species that grows along the edge of marshes, lakes, ponds and rivers. Brings great vertical presence to the bog garden where it spreads by rhizomes to create attractive sweeps of plants. Or grow in a container to limit its spread and create a vertical accent. This variety has stems that are strongly variegated cream-white to very light green – en masse the effect is a pale but luminescent green. The stems are excellent for basketweaving as they are very long and remain flexible when dried. The achenes (seeds) are a favorite food of water birds.
