Provides interesting form and yellow color to the spring woodland garden. The 2-inch lemon-yellow, bell-shaped flowers twirl and nod downward amidst graceful, sea green foliage. Forms an ever-expanding clump through underground rhizomes and is useful as a tallish (12-16″) groundcover underneath shrubs.  Unlike many groundcovers however it’s difficult to divide. Likes neutral soil. Companions:Creeping Phlox, Bloodroot, Hepatica, Spring Beauty, Foamflower, and Dutchman’s Breeches.
