Vaccinium corymbosum ‘Coville’ – Highbush Blueberry – 5-Gallon

$49.00

Named for famed blueberry researcher and chief botanist of the USDA Frederick Coville. Together with New Jersey resident Elizabeth White, daughter of a major cranberry grower, and local blueberry pickers, the first superior blueberry varieties for commercial production were made available to growers and eventually homeowners. In the New Jersey pine barrens, where Coville and White worked, soils are quite sandy, so avoid growing ‘Coville’ in a heavy clay soil. ‘Coville’ is a late ripening, large blueberry with very good flavor, a bit tart, but highly aromatic and with very high dessert quality.
